Dec 22nd

Instead of the tandem trike, Peter and I went to Walton by car to find Phil and Harry (who made it by bike from Wimbledon). We saw Roger also on his bike as we left but that was the extent of our ride.. Have a Merry Christmas and I hope to see you next year!-- albert

From Albert

It took my old bones a day to recover from our Wednesday ride and send my entry for the blog but I`ve checked and see it was not 2009 on my heading after all. It is said that the first thing to go is the mind but in my case probably more important bits! Thanks Steph for a much better description of a good if somewhat chilly ride---------------------Albert

Alberts Story

Pictures from Albert

I hope you get a full report of Stephanie`s ride as I was with Peter 0n my tandem trike quite unable to follow the others and opted for our own route to The Tide End Cottage near Teddington Lock. At Elleray Hall there was a good turnout with Mark, Lynda, John C., Fuzz, Roger, Les, Dennis, Ron, Johnno, Lisa, Chris, Peter and myself plus of course Stephanie who led the ride. My only contribution is a few photos of those of us who arrived at this delightful watering hole----------------Albert

12th Dec 2007: Albert's Tale

Yesterday was pretty chilly but sunny and I got my gear together for a ride from Leatherhead and bunged it in the car.
After parking in the Randells Road car park and opening the hatch to extract the bike. I realised I had left the front wheel behind in the garage. Everyone has had a good belly laugh so I thought I`d share it with the the rest of you!!
On my return home the only one of you I could contact was Lynda who was unable to say where you were having lunch as she was not out owing to feeling poorly. I got some gen from Mark who did not go as far as the lunch stop and rode to Bookham instead; sorry about that Ron ---------------- Albert

Lunch with Albert

Thanks to Lynda for her report. Being wednesday I at least needed a bit of a ride so kept my hospital appointment by getting a few miles in and rode to Ashford Hospital instead of the free bus pickup offered. By the time I reached Laleham on my return, I stopped for a pint and some lunch at a very nice old inn and while consuming the former and waiting for the latter, a couple of cyclists whom I recognised entered and said they had seen my bike outside. They were Frank and Judy, usually with `A` group, out together and joined me at table. See you at Elleray Hall next week ------- Albert

Still in one piece!!

Bill phoned me with a brief resume of Roger`s ride on Wednesday to The Half Moon at Ripley and I was sorry to have missed the day .
What with visits to the doctor etc. and my dear friends and family rallying round, I most certainly confirm Mark`s report regarding `God speed`.
I`m sorry I will miss Cobham next week also but I`ll see Bill on our Monday ride. My annual Belgian visitors arrive on Wednesday and stay until Friday so I will have the mine host stuff to do!
My thanks to Mark for his kind step into the breach. God bless you all ----------- Albert
