North West branch of South West London CTC

A few of us from tbe Northwest corner of the Southwest London CTC province opted for a shorter ride to an alternative 11's at Notcutts Laleham.

A sunny but chilly day saw 6 escapees leave Notcutts heading for Chertsey bridge for the ride through Virginia water and into Windsor Great Park.

Past the half term throng of demented children and past the polo field and the new stretch of road by the Prince consort statue. A stop for a group photo by the post office and a wave to the Queen who was queuing to collect her pension😄.

Another brief photo stop at the Queens jubilee statue and then the out through the Ascot gate and the brief cycle to lunch at the Sun Café at Sunninghill, a bright modern cafe with great food.

Leaving Sunninghill and head south for Sunningdale, across the A30 and heading towards Chobham, we crossed Chobham and on through Longcross, Chertsey bridge to tea at Nauticailia Shepperton lock, just before which Liz and Carolyn left to go home directly. A pleasent chit-chat over drinks before Pam, Ed, Maureen and I headed our separate ways home. Thank you all for your company and a very pleasent days cycling.

Tony..
