Pete Barnard, our former Secretary, has sent us this interesting news:
In my local library I have come across a Statutory Consultation Brochure for the above. Apologies if you already know about it but it’s a fairly chunky book dealing largely with Surrey flood prevention. However there are two issues that may interest South West London CTC. The proposal includes:
- upgrades to the Thames Path
- a new(ish) cycle path from Walton to Staines.
The latter requires 2 new footbridges over the Thames (there is another option without the bridges that would be rather fragmented).
The consultation runs to 4th March with various meeting all over the place.
Perhaps you could update the Committee and maybe we might find a volunteer to progress our interests.
Pete

In the Document Library for the scheme the maps including the propossed cycle route are in Map Book 2 of the Consultation Documents. There is an overview map and a series of detailed sections which take a bit of figuring out if you aren't very familiar with the area.
