There were a lot at Molesley Day Centre today. We left behind, the Squirrels, Albert, Bill H., Dennis and the remainder 16 of us headed for Hampton Court. Making our way towards Thames Ditton, the train barrier was down, and taking a long time; so we continued on the cycle track by the side of the road and took the following left. After Long Ditton, Hook and Chessington we went the back roads to Longmead, then Manor Green Road to The Cricketers at Shamley Green. They have had a refurbishment and their first opening day was today. In fact, the painters were still there. As we got there about 12.30 we managed to get a couple of tables outside. It soon filled up, so we were in good time. They are doing offers of 2 main meals for 9 and £10. After lunch, some went the quick way home; and I continued with the ride, going over Ashtead Common up to Ashtead Park, then behind Epsom Hospital to have tea in The Pantry at Nonsuch Park. This cafe has also had a refurbishment and is very comfortable now, and selling fine wares. Not a drop of rain, which made it a pleasant day to cycle, after the downpour of last week!
