Back in the ‘warm and barmy’ days of mid-March, after the ride on the 14th Mark wrote that we had seen a glimpse of Spring, well if that was the case, today the weather gods really let us know just who has control of such things.
Due to the persistent and heavy rain with no letup in sight, subsequently proved correct, those that met at Leatherhead decided to abandon thoughts of 35 plus mile rides and took a swift ride to the Wetherspoon’s pub in Surbiton, The Coronation Hall.
Here, five of us enjoyed the usual moderately priced fayre, and to our pleasure we were joined by Tony Hooker.
Far too wet and cold to stand around outside the pub so I’m afraid there is no photo this week, who wants to see six bedraggled cyclists dressed head to toe in wet weather gear anyway! After lunch, we all headed to our homes to warm up and dry out.
We shall do the ride to the Bell Inn at Outwood later in the year.
As usual, although the weather was poor the company made the day worthwhile.
Thanks to all
David
