Report for the Easy Riders - 8th March

Five of us met at North Cheam this week. Weather wasn't great, but we enjoyed ourselves as usual...conditions were wet and slushy, but no ice anywhere.

We stopped for the photo near Ashtead Park garden centre, on our way to coffee at Leatherhead. It is rare for us to be out in the snow! But we were still surprised to realise we were the only club members out today, when we arrived at the Fairfield Centre. So we had to eat all the scones...

After coffee, Helen led for International Women's Day. We took the cycleway from Leatherhead station via Lower Ashtead and the commons to return to Epsom. We had to backtrack a little on Evelyn Way as the railway bridge near Loop Road is still closed for repairs; we then missed a turning after the hospital, but soon found the route again to our lunch at the Rising Sun on Heathcote road, a new venue for us. It was good to see Janice enjoying a quiet lunch with a friend, after her well deserved trophy at the annual lunch last week! Food and service was good, the soup could have been more generous but all was delicious.

We left the pub to go our separate ways shortly after 2 pm. All glad to have been out for the day, but equally to be heading for home before the serious weather set in!
