A Group 27th September

Fourteen of us set out from Redhill hoping that the cloud would break as promised. No such luck for the first hour and a brief stop at the top of Tilburstow revealed nothing but a grey haze over the Weald. From here we followed a long succession of lanes eastwards, the rural feel broken briefly by Hurst Green before we continued along Swaynesland Road to Four Elms and Hever. Having circumnavigated Edenbridge we approached from the south to lunch at the Old Eden. By now there was some warm sunshine and we enjoyed lunch in the garden. One the way back we stopped at Crowhurst for those who had not previously seen the yew tree and then over Tilburstow where the view was only marginally clearer. At Banstead we found Pistachio's closed so enjoyed tea at Edibles instead. 42 very enjoyable miles. Well I lie, the last bit up Park Lane seemed a bit more than I needed after a couple of weeks off the bike.
Thanks to Mike for back marking and Geoff, Hans and Mark for photos, map and stats.
