'B' Group Weds 3 Jan 2018

A breezy day to say the least for the first 'B' ride of 2018!  The wind was never really helpful to us and was, at times, decidedly unhelpful!   A few sensible souls rode from elevenses to lunch by a direct route (in a car in one case), but, for a detox, the main group rode a bit of a long way round with some element of climbing (487 metres to be precise)!   Nevertheless, we did all arrive at lunch at Epsom by 1.00 pm to regroup.  Wetherspoons was busy but as efficient as ever and we were replete and on our way again shortly after 2.00 pm.  The main group was rather reduced by now and, heading for tea at Long Ditton, was unlucky enough to be riding straight into the wind which seemed to be at its worst at this point!  After the struggle to tea there was the usual parting of the ways and we made our separate ways home.  Thanks to all who joined us, to Tim for back-marking, and to all the corner markers, and welcome to Lilian Royds, a Cheam & Morden rider joining us for the first time!
