SUSTRANS looses routes.

It’s not surprising that SUSTRANS have reclassified many of their NCN routes: some on quite heavily trafficked roads were very challenging. Let’s hope that alternative traffic-free, better engineered solutions can be found.

Well I hope all the cash strapped councils charge Sustrans for all the signage work involved. They always knew most of their routes were a compromise - not least because some of the off road sections were almost unrideable with a touring bike. Virtuous impracticality wont get people cycling.

Gutted. Given way to the car . I ve cycled loads of sustrans routes and ok there s a few dodgy bits here and there but they have given people excellent maps and inspired beginning cyclists to go further. Now we ll be sharing less adventurous routes with pedestrians and other routes abandoned 😥
