You are invited
to join a train assisted ride to Bentley in Hampshire next Wednesday 29th
May. We will be having elevenses at the Woodham Centre in New Haw (KT15 3ND)
and heading to Ash near Aldershot for lunch at The Greyhound, a distance of 15
miles.

We need to pre-order from the

After lunch, we head south to
Tongham through some lovely lanes to Alice Holt Forest for tea. The
afternoon ride is 13 miles and a little
more undulating but nothing we can’t handle! The café in Alice Holt Forest
closes at 4pm and if any group is not going to make this, there is the option
of Haskins Garden Centre where the café closes at 5pm.
Now to the
train bit of the ride. The route leads us directly into the back of Bentley
station where the line joins the main line back to London. There is one train
an hour at 14:51, 15:51 and 16:51 and then another at 17:21. When we did the
recce on Tuesday the train was very quiet and plenty of room for our bikes. The
advance fare on Trainline is £13.60 and some of you may have railcards as well.
