The A group to lunch

We were so lucky with the weather, there was I thinking that we would be riding into a head wind with torrential rain and all we had was a head wind in parts, so lucky. Sorry forgot to count number of riders before we set off but having Mike as a back marker and in his orange jacket what could go wrong!!! Of course nothing.
I cut the route short, I had said we would head for Esher, after the second bump from Cobham was traversed as my knee had started to play up on the way to Cobham I cut out the last bump and turned left to drop down to the roundabout at the bottom of Lammas.
The rest of the ride went as planned as far as Hampton Court Bridge were we regrouped and I decided that to use the cross country route through Bushey Park could be to wet, instead we used the shared path on the road to Kingston Bridge. Over the bridge and through the market we travelled along the new cycle path and that is were we hit the head wind, never  mind, we were soon coasting up the Brighton Road and once over the top headed to our lunch stop.

Many thanks goes to all those that preempted the need for a corner marker and once again thanks to Mike for back marking and wearing such a distinctive top, so easy to see.

It was nice to see so many Wayfarers at lunch, especially Graham who appears to be making a good recovery after his accident, we look forward to seeing him in the future.

Thanks must also go to the staff of the restaurant for the great service, we were served it appears without a hitch.

I hope everyone had a safe home journey and didn't get to wet.

Geoff
