You are invited to join the A group ride from Redhill on 23rd June.
I'd originally planned - and receed twice, an off-road section (before lunch), as well as an all-road option. Lunch in Four Elms, tea in Banstead.
First the good news. I've abandoned the off-road bit because of today's incessant rain, and likely more rain to come before Wednesday. And the bad news? The road route is longer and hillier - and I've yet to ride it. (I plan to check the route on Monday).
It's double nuts on Wednesday. The start at Pistachios cafe, Memorial Park, Redhill, and tea at Pistachios cafe, Banstead. Lunch is at the Four Elms Inn.
24 miles to lunch, 23 miles to tea and 867m. ascent.
Only two co-leaders offered to help me* - Frances and Mike Reynell, with David Ward an always-willing leader, but only as a reserve because of a knee injury. Hence it may be challenging to accept a full complement of As whilst sticking to our Rules of Six. Unless there are last-minute offers to sub-lead it will be first-come, first-served to keep numbers manageable on the road.
Please respond by 6.00pm on Monday 21st June to: gedlawrenson150@gmail.com.
Groups and timings, lunch arrangements, etc will be emailed on Tues. 22nd June.
A .gpx route will be made available after my recee with Frances on Monday.
email me with any queries.
* Steve Duffin has kindly stepped-in as a third sub-leader so we should be able to keep to compact groups on the road.
Thanks.
