It was such a pleasure for me to see so many club members at Cobham. Unfortunately most of the Easy Riders were taking it very easy and arrived after the other groups had left on their rides. Our short ride took us up Horsley Road, past Effingham Junction to turn right into Drift Road. There were complaints from several members about the surface of this road but I doubt that resurfacing this particular road is a local council priority. We turned left into Ockham Road and followed it up to Guildford Road where we turned off left towards Effingham. After tackling the big dipper we turned off left into Dirtham Lane, Calvert Road and Orestan Lane to find ourselves at The Plough where we enjoyed our lunch.
Afterwards we turned into Lower Road then almost immediately turned right into Church Street and taking the track behind Howard of Effingham School to rejoin Lower Road further along. We followed this road into and around Leatherhead to join Barnett Wood Lane, turned up Harriotts Lane and round Ashtead for tea at the Olive Tree.
