With such fine weather and an interesting route, a large turnout of 26 riders assembled at the RBL in Cobham for their usual warm hospitality at Elevenses. Teams Guy, Fawkes and Plot departed on time for an undulating and pleasant route to St. Barnabas Church, Ranmore Common a.k.a. 'Cathedral in the Woods'. Most exclaimed they had passed it many times but no one had actually been in!
In case you missed the brief talk by the ride leads, here's a link to the history of the Church:

From there it was mostly downhill to the Cock Inn at Headley, apart from 'Little Switzerland'. The Pub bistro style food was good, but service was slow overall. About half the groups made it to The Old Moat for tea and delicious cakes, the remainder headed home for an early finish.

Welcome to Alan and Hazel Imerson on their inaugural morning ride with Team Guy, hopefully we shall see them soon on another autumnal ride. It was good to have Ken back cycling with the group again. Also, well done to Pete Beyer who made the effort of walking to the Cock Inn to meet us all.
My sincere thanks to Mick Arber and FixieDave for their superb sub-leading and to Paul Day, Tim Gibbons and Colin Garrod for back-marking.
Francis
