You may well know by now that the elevenses booked for 27th July cannot take place at this venue. It closed today so that alterations can take place to accommodate an expected increase in number of people as the Day Centre in Lyons Court is closing down. The cafe at the Christian Centre is to be enlarged and a paid cook will provide the lunches whereas volunteers have done this, although they may well be needed to provide assistance.
Hairdressing, chiropody and reflexology/massage will also be accommodated as at Lyons Court. The main hall will be reduced in size and adequate doors installed instead of the current folding doors. Entry and exit to the Centre is acquired by pushing on the door opener to one side - rather bewildering at first!
The improved Centre will be dedicated at a church service on 4th September at 4 pm, followed by tea and cakes in the new cafe at 5 pm.
