The main group from North Cheam had found that the strong wind against them slowed their progress and in consequence arrived a bit late at Walton DC - at least that was what they told us on arrival. As we had restricted time for a ride we decided that the Goat, Upper Halliford should be our lunch destination.
We decided to chance it and sat outside for our lunch when, midway through, Ray Wren arrived with his brand new machine - an electrically powered Harvey Davidson bike with all sorts of gadgets but a tuppeny ha'penny bell. As expected, it had a huge price tag but, Ray being Ray, he managed to get an equally huge discount.
Now, together with Peter Tiller and his equally impressive new electrically powered machine, they have suggested that they might introduce an offshoot of the 'C' group and call it the 'e' group.
Our route back took us around Sunbury and along to Hampton Hill Gate and into Bushy Park. Here it was decided to have a tea stop at the Sum Up cafe at the Kingston corner of the Park where five of us stopped for refreshment.
