We left Cobham after arranging a last minute booking at The Bell, Fetcham but as this took a little while we went there by a fairly direct route by going along Downside Road, turning left into Cobham Park Road and onto Bookham Road. At the end we traversed the common to The Glade which led us onto Kennel Lane and on to Lower Road where we turned left. After the breezy ride downhill we turned left at the roundabout into Bell Lane and along to the pub. It was a pleasant surprise to receive our bills with the 15% reduction in VAT and 50% reduction in the total to be paid. Frank Carter thought it the last time that he would ever pay as little as £2.60 for a pint of beer and he felt all the better for it.
We left down School Lane turning right into Cobham Road and along to the cycleway through the Nature Reserve to a closed off Waterway Road hosting road works. Fortunately we could cycle by way of the pedestrian free pavement to go on past Leatherhead Train Station and onto Kingston Road. At the top we took the cycleway under the M25 onto Ashtead and Epsom Commons to The Old Moat where three stayed for tea and the remainder made their ways back home.
