Executive capture now complete?

The CTC I joined was a Club - a members services organisation. A few years ago, despite the best efforts of people like Jeff Tollerman, it converted itself into a Charity - ostensibly, we were told, to benefit from Gift Aid tax refunds. Despite warnings of the longer term consequences of Executive Capture the conversion was made.

I note the three Ordinary Resolutions for this years AGM.

In summary these:

1. Increase Membership Subscriptions for almost all Wayfarers, and many other regular CTC group cyclists, by removing the Age related concessionary rate. The aim being to increase funding of the wider charitable activities of CUK.

2 Remove the need for a Physical AGM

3 Remove from all CTC Services and publications any promotion of cycling holidays involving flying - ie CTC Branded holidays,  Magazine articles on tours or holidays involving flying and Adverts in the magazine selling holidays involving flying. All this on grounds of supporting the Environmental protection objective in the Charity's articles of Association

It seems to me that the Executive Capture process is now complete as the 3 motion each act in support of the wider Charitable objectives of CTC and detract from direct member benefits and involvement.

I am sure it gives Jeff no pleasure to say "I told you so" - but he did.

I have been minded to cancel my CTC membership for some time now, this may well be the final straw.
