Report for Easy Riders - 22nd June

We left Weybridge Day Centre and made our way through Addlestone and over the M25. This brought us to the bottom of Spinney Hill where we turned left along Ongar Hill and soon after left again down Row Town. After passing the Garden Centre we took a track to the right which brought us out on to Woodham Lane where we turned right. At the roundabout we turned left into Sheerwater Road and left at the next roundabout into Old Woking Road. Soon after we turned right into Oakcroft Road and followed this into Pyrford Village. and then right into Polesden Lane. We then found ourselves outside the Saddlers Arms, which Vic White had recommended, and enjoyed our lunch in the garden.

After lunch we rode up to Portsmouth Road, turned left and soon after turned right into Grove Heath Road which led us to Rose Lane. We then turned left up Guileshill Lane, joined Ockham Road North and turned off left along Ockham Lane. At Martyr's Green it was apparent that Dawn Moriarty was feeling poorly and just wanted to find a convenient train station to travel back. We followed Old lane up to Effingham Junction and, as luck would have it in the current rail travel chaos, a train soon arrived and passenger and bike bundled on it. We then took Bank's Lane across Bookham Common, made our way through Leatherhead and Lower Ashtead and stopped for tea at the Olive Tree.
