You are invited to our annual A Group ride to Horsted Keynes on 17th July, where we traditionally meet riders from the former East Sussex CTC. Elevenses is at Tesco's Hookwood, just off the Reigate Road. (The cafe is once again on the upper floor - up the moving staircase). Tea is in Banstead.
It's 48miles in total from Hookwood (20 miles to lunch, 28 miles to tea).
For those not previously ridden this route, Hookwood is approximately 19 miles from North Cheam, where I will be able to lead anybody who would find this helpful.
Lunch is at the Green Man pub, Horsted Keynes. The route picks-up the off-road gravelly Worth Way for about 5miles. It was muddy in a few places on a recce today, but overall it is a good surface easily rideable with road tyres. There's a longish climb into Hosted Keynes, but also some lovely long-distance views. And a bit hillier with some familiar climbs after lunch!
The Green Man pub has requested that we pre-order lunch, by Monday evening, so please ensure you let me have your choice when signing-up for the ride. Please respond by 6.00pm Monday evening to:- gedlawrenson150@gmail.com
Garmin route details and groups. etc will be emailed on Tues. morning.
Thanks.
