Eleven eager riders met at the market place in Kingston where we divided into two groups as per current regulations and set off separately to meet for lunch at the car park adjacent to Walton Bridge.
Helen Tovey's group followed the Thames along the towpath whereas John Bellamy was keen to show his group a track that he had recently found in Molesey. By turning off left along Island Farm Road into Fleetside and taking the third turning on the left (house numbers 92 - 100), a gap between the houses leads to a narrow bridge over what is termed "Dead River". The winding and closely wooded track follows alongside the Molesey Nature Reserve and eventually comes out on Fieldcommon Lane. As there was little traffic we went to the end of Rydens Road, turned right into Hersham Road and then through Walton High Street to the bridge.
After lunch of homemade sandwiches the two groups went off separately along the other side of the Thames to Hampton Court Bridge, Thames Ditton and home. It felt good to be socialising again despite the rain on the way back.

Lovely to see the Easy Riders out in force - and the discovery of hidden off-road tracks: one positive outcome of enforced solo riding!
