You are invited on Wednesday's A group ride from Cobham Royal British Legion to Sorrento's restaurant, Tolworth.
If you've read the latest Sou'wester Shorts you'll know that this is our first elevenses at the Legion since the outbreak of the pandemic. As such we will need to be particularly mindful of the arrangements made for our visit. We have agreed with the new Chairman, Dave Ansell, that we will stagger arrival times at the premises, so that there are no more than 20-25 Wayfarers in the building at any one time. Wearing of masks is not necessary, but social distancing needs to respected as far as possible. Hand sanitisers will be provided on the tables. Maureen will be on hand to help Noreen - the Legions secretary, with refreshments.
For the As, we will be arriving first, from 10.00am, with the groups departing at 10.20am and 10.30am. (Bs will be arriving as we depart, followed by the Easy Riders).
The ride will be relatively short - 20miles, to get you to lunch in plenty of time. The route's on road, via Walton-on-Thames, Sunbury, Thames Ditton and Surbiton. The route will be finalised on Monday after a recce by myself and Janice.
Please respond to gedlawrenson150@gmail.com or on our WhatsApp by Monday evening. Groups and departures will be announced on Tues.
I hope you are looking forward to the long-awaited return of the annual lunch - and a little ride first.
