After the stormy weather we had Tuesday, it was a relief to see the rain had passed and the wind was dropping this morning.
A group of 18, including newcomer Frances headed out via Ripley, Woking and Worplesdon then a little excursion through Wood Street Village for a taster of the Christmas Pie Trail. The condition of the trail was good apart from some debris from the previous days storm and a fallen tree which was negotiated without too much difficulty. After this just a few more miles to lunch at Shackleford Cyder House, where the pre-ordered food arrived in good time and the weather was good enough for us to sit outside. After a leisurely lunch time to head to Bookham for tea and tackle a few hills on the way.
Thanks to Steve for backmarking for the day and the usual support of corner markers who keep the ride flowing. Total approx 38 miles Cobham to tea.
For anyone who is interested there is a brief history of the pub on the link below.
