B Group - 31st May

It was good to see several riders I had not seen for a while ....plus... we  had the pleasure of the company of Frances Stewart who joined us for the first time.

Twenty B riders left Weybridge D.C. en route to Woodside for lunch - via Addlestone, Ottershaw and Trumps Green.  At Virginia Water we entered Windsor Great Park - passing the Totem Pole then Smiths Lawn, where there was a polo match or maybe a practice in progress?   We then took a left past the Village, exiting at Cranbourne Gate.  Once on the other side of the 'Peanut roundabout' it was only a mile or so to The Duke of Edinburgh.

The food was excellent, but, once again, (different pub) we had to wait a long time for the last few meals.  It made for a long leisurely lunch break.

It was 2.30 when we left the pub.  Our return was back into Windsor Park, the way we came out, but this time we headed for Bishopsgate, passing the Long Walk where we paused to admire the view. Through Englefield Green, down Prune Hill, Thorpe and on to the bridle path from Penton Park to Bridge Road, Chertsey. We waited for the last few at Abbey Bridge where Gill went back to see what had happened, returned with two but Tim had stayed with Peter C who had taken a tumble.   In the mean time Tim had spoken to me on the phone, said Peter could hardly walk so agreed to call an ambulance but didn't have to as a very kind motorist who was passing took Peter to St. Peters hospital. Tim cycled to the hospital, stayed there until late.  I'm sure Tim will post updates on the blog.

Sooooo the rest of us continued to Shepperton Lock where we chatted in between tea drinking and cake eating.

Thank you all for joining me on my ride - to all who cornered and opened gates etc. and to Tim for his photos - and taking care of Peter!!

I am so very sorry that Peter came off his bike resulting in a fractured pelvis.

Also, my sympathy goes to Alan Imeson as he dislocated his elbow yesterday morning.   Get well soon guys :):)

Pam :)

Our cheerful leader

When I saw the photos I realised what a bad job we had made of lining up and watching the birdie. New rider Frances is mostly eclipsed by Tony and Julian; Miles, on his phone, is totally hidden by John B; Peter T is consulting his Garmin to figure out the best route from the car park; Gill is about to sneeze.
