B Group - 14th June

Eleven Bs met at Redhill (including newcomer Ruth, welcome Ruth) on a perfect day for cycling. Thanks to current weather conditions I was able to use my Plan A which took us away from Redhill in a roughly north-east direction on N21/Avenue Verte to Bletchingley Road where we headed south to Bletchingley. After a short stretch east on the A25 we turned onto Rabies Heath Road and had a short break to admire the view from Tilburstow Hill summit. From there it was a straightforward run to Crowhurst and another short break to inspect the 1000? 2000? 4000? year old yew tree. Then to lunch at Dormansland via Lingfield. The Old House at Home has been nicely refurbished and only quite recently reopened. The food was good and served quite quickly.

After lunch, despite consulting maps I still took a wrong turning which added a hill (sorry folks) but thanks to Tim’s wonder gizmo we were soon back on course and in the west end of Lingfield. We headed for Smallfield via Newchapel, and after a brief discussion decided to make for Redhill airfield (for 3s) by the most direct route. Six of us stopped there at 1550, just in time, and after a few minutes chat and watching small aeroplanes most of us headed for Dorking via south Reigate, Betchworth and the golf course.

Thanks to John A for backmarking, various others for corner marking and all for company.
