Easy Riders - 31st May

Weybridge Day Centre - The Angel, Thames Ditton

Eleven left the Day Centre in a nice warm breeze to lunch at THE ANGEL, Thames Ditton.   We turned left at the main road and continued up the hill past the railway station and on to Cobham, then Stoke d’Abernon where we turned left into Blundel Lane, over the High Street to Birds Hill Estate, turning right to make for New Road.  This is where we performed our BUSTER KEATON routine.!!  A big road sign stated that the motorway bridge was not safe and would be closed for 10 weeks from April 24th?? So after studying a map it seemed that we could turn left a short way down and after crossing the motorway bridge we would pick up Claygate at Hare Road.  So off we set and promptly turned left, surface much better than the straight path until we came to another sign and on stopping to read it I found we were only 3!!  with not a soul in  sight. We retraced our steps and found Brian looking for us.  He said the others had gone straight on and the bridge was perfectly alright so after following him, sure enough, not a worker or any equipment in sight.  The Angel was very welcoming; we sat in the garden and enjoyed a really good lunch.

Thanks to everyone who came and to Mary & Mike for being TEC.
