A Group from Weybridge – Wed 28th October

Wednesday’s ride will be to The Compasses at Gomshall where they have a marquee with plenty of space, guaranteed rain-proof and big enough to accommodate all of us outside.

Departure will be from the Churchfields Recreation Ground at Weybridge (behind the day centre we visited in the before-times). Plenty of space to spread out, toilets on site, and coffee shops nearby for refreshments.

Departure in groups of 6 at 20-minute intervals from around 10am

This is the first ride of wintertime, so I have planned a longer morning and a short afternoon.

Morning is 24 hilly-ish miles 1,750ft climbing, around 2 ¼ hours

Afternoon only 11 miles to tea at Rykas, or Denbies if you want posh. If that’s too easy for you, there is always the possibility of continuing home via Box Hill or Chapel Lane, your choice.

Unless there’s a miraculous change in the weather the lanes will be mucky, so pack your mudguards, and the afternoon daylight short, so pack your lights too. Not to mention face coverings and hand sanitizer.

Please let me know if you want to join the fun by email by 7pm on Monday 26th October.
