I think the wording is misleading for tier 2. I have asked CUK urgently to clarify it, but it implies that we can't meet in groups of six at cafes at all, whether inside or out. The government guidance only says we cannot meet inside in any setting. I think it's just a mistake. Simon
I've got clarification from Alex Cuppleditch, the author of the guidance. She confirmed that this is advice rather than being mandatory, and we are covered for insurance so long as we follow the government rules (rule of six, Tier 2 households not meeting indoors, etc). The aim was to encourage us to think very carefully about meeting outside cafes, because of the health risk of mingling with other groups or members of the public, and also the possible impact on reputation of cyclists if it looks as if large groups are meeting, even if we are keeping in separate groups of six.
