Scam email - watch out

Dear All,

A cautionary word.

Today I received an email purporting to be from one of our former members, saying ’hi’ and inviting me to click on a link.

This member’s name is Harold Fifield. Some of you may remember him.

I mention this only because he died several years ago.

Beware!

Jeff

Well done Jeff, you would make a good police man. I remember Harold very well and remember that his wife used to put on a good spread once a year for the MWW. Lovely Indian food!
I also have fond memories of vising his house and workshop in Kingston. He was and excellent motor mechanic and later on became an excellent photographer with no expense spared on cameras etc.
He had an old MGB GT which was in terrible condition and I did have a mind to buy it from from him but as I was still working I neither the time or the garage space to do the renovation.
He also built from Kit form a Caterham 7, total cost some £18,000. In the end have told me he gave it away, as he needed the space (or maybe because he was planning to move?) for £12,000. What a bargain!
He also refurbished a Triumph Stag. It was the notoriously bad "V" 8 engine with hydraulic cam lifters and compared to the Rover "V" 8 was a disaster. Harold spent a long time getting the Stag to work properly including extensive bodywork and under chassis reconstruction! In the end he gave it away for a low price before I could get involved in any negotiation!
Harold's health was deteriorating and so he and his wife decided to sell up and move to Scotland to to live with their daughter, which they did before he passed away. A very clever man and a true Gentleman!
