Yesterday morning was a very different scene compared to this morning’s (Thursday) sunshine. Seventeen hardy souls from an initial list of 24 gathered at Addlestone, some already planning escape routes should the rain get really bad. As the ride progressed so did the volume of rain making for a very wet and uncomfortable ride. Despite this the groups reached the Walnut Tree in Bourne End in reasonably good spirits and were well fed and watered by the staff ( the pre ordering of lunch worked a treat).
The return journey, minus a couple of wise train enthusiasts was accompanied by even heavier rain but hopefully all made tea/home safely.
Well done to all who turned up, a special thanks to Dave and Mike for leading their groups and to Patrick who displayed patience and compassion in his volunteer roll 😤.
