Partial lifting of restricted access to Richmond Park

See this latest news on the Royal Parks website:

In particular check the map to see which routes are permitted and which are not and note that the permitted times are primarily for the benefit of commuters. The park is still closed to us between 10am and 4pm but still allows us plenty of time to go for a ride if we don't mind sharing the roads with the commuters.

As before, the restrictions don't apply to key workers or to children aged 12 or under and their immediate families.

The last time I cycled in Richmond Park was 26th Feb. - so opening-up is very much welcomed! However it's advisable to heed Tim's warning to check the latest details - and look at the Park cycling map. It's weekdays only, you can't cycle between Kingston Gate and Robin Hood Gate, nor between Roehampton and Robin Hood Gate. I also saw a notice on the Ladderstile Gate - a favourite access for many of us, saying no cycling access from 2nd June to 14th June. So you can't do the traditional Park circuit but merely cycle through. Keep to the external road circuit for now!
